OD: A temporary hypoautofluorescence is observed in the fovea, which corresponds to an alteration of the pigmented epithelium in that area.
Increased visibility of the large choroidal vessels as a result of pigment loss and attenuation of the retinal pigment epithelium secondary to axial elongation, tissue stretching, and retinal and choroidal thinning. It is one of the preliminary and earliest signs of high myopia and corresponds to category 1 of atrophic myopic maculopathy in the ATN classification. The tessellated background alone has not been associated with loss of visual acuity.
