Adult-Onset Foveomacular Vitelliform Dystrophy

Description

It is characterized by the presence of rounded, bilateral, yellowish lesions with subfoveal localization. The vitelliform lesions are mainly composed of photoreceptor debris, possibly as a result of defective phagocytosis by the retinal pigment epithelium. Patients may present symptoms of blurred vision or mild metamorphopsia.
