Retinitis pigmentosa (RP) is the most common retinal dystrophy. The presence of optic nerve head (ONH) drusen is much more frequent in RP (10-20%) than in the general population (1-2%).
Comments
Fundus autofluorescence helps detect ONH drusen that may go unnoticed in the eye fundus.
Indication
30-year-old male diagnosed with RP referred for eye fundus evaluation due to possible papilledema. Imaging tests revealed the presence of ONH drusen.
